SMARTPLY PROPASSIV

SMARTPLY PROPASSIV is a structural OSB panel with integrated vapour control and air barrier properties for use as structural sheathing in timber frame structures.

Airtightness is engineered into the OSB panel substrate, whilst SMARTPLY's in-house speciality surfacing technology provides an integrated vapour barrier with consistently high vapour resistance over the entire surface.

Toepassingen

SMARTPLY PROPASSIV is designed for use as internal structural sheathing on the warm side of the insulation in timber frame construction systems.

The integrated vapour control layer and air barrier properties eliminate the need for additional Air and Vapour Control Layout (AVCL) membranes. The coating also provides a smooth durable surface for superior bonding of airtight tape at panel joints. The product is suitable for both new build and renovation projects.

Voor PROPASSIV moet tape worden gebruikt die is getest op luchtdichtheid, ook na veroudering. De tapespecificaties voor diverse bouwdetails staan in de installatieaanwijzingen, met een (niet-complete) lijst van leveranciers. Deze aanwijzingen zijn beschikbaar op de website.

Het is niet nodig om tape aan te brengen op het bevestigingsmateriaal waarmee PROPASSIV wordt bevestigd, zolang dat bevestigingsmateriaal niet wordt verwijderd en opnieuw aangebracht, of wordt voorgeboord.

PROPASSIV heeft een dikte van 12,5 mm en is niet verkrijgbaar in andere diktes. De dikte van 12,5 mm is nodig om de vereiste luchtdichtheid te krijgen. Dunner is niet mogelijk, aangezien dat gevolgen heeft voor de luchtdichtheid. Dikker biedt geen extra voordelen en zou alleen maar meer kosten.

PROPASSIV kan op zichzelf worden gebruikt, aangebracht aan de warme zijde van de isolatie en is daardoor geschikt voor gebruik als enige bekledingsplaat in de wandopbouw.

PROPASSIV is luchtdicht gemaakt door ontwikkeling van een specifieke OSB-formule waarop octrooi is aangevraagd en die het weglekken van lucht voorkomt, in tegenstelling tot gewone OSB-platen.
